New Directions in Youth Development: Afterschool Around the Globe - Policy, Practices, and Youth Voice. (for sale).
Child Trends has developed short, easy-to-read resources that provide research-based guidance for out-of-school time program providers on topics ranging from staff development and cultural competence to implementing evidence-based practices and evaluating program outcomes for youth. All of these resources are available for free download.
In the News
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) released a report by Policy Studies Associates (PSA) demonstrating that the Out-of-School Time (OST) initiative is meeting the afterschool needs of high school youth. Policy Studies Associates OST Evaluation
